Batteries and CFLs can be brought to the Piedmont Fire Station, 120 Vista Avenue, Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Call (510) 420-3030 for after-hours drop-off. This collection service is extended to residential waste only and cannot accept batteries or CFLs from business establishments. To assist residents, the Piedmont Fire Department in conjunction with Alameda County Household Hazardous Waste has a battery and CFL recycling program. Items we do not accept: medications, medical sharps, car batteries, industrial batteries, long florescent tubes, batteries contained in electronics like cell phones or tablets.
