A group of runners from Colorado collects new and washed "near new" running shoes, shorts and t-shirts to send to needy athletes in Africa. All the shoes in good condition are shipped to Africa, Central, and South America, as well as to shelter, churches, Native American reserves, and Military recruits in the US. The shoes that are beat up are sent to Nike in Beaverton, OR., through Boulder’s Eco-Cycle program, to be ground up and made into running tracks and playgrounds through the Reuse-a-Shoe program.
