Material Return

647 Hopewell Road, Morganton, North Carolina 28655

Worker-owned enterprise that works with local manufacturers and national brands to transform textile waste into new products. Our aggregation and sorting site ensures textiles are diverted from the landfill (for a fee!) while providing clients with waste analytics and education. We develop custom circular yarn blends for manufacturers and national brands ensuring ‘end of life’ is determined in the design process. We produce a circular yarn made from waste called ReturnTex™ and - with our partners at Carolina Textile District - custom circular products. Our hope is for Material Return to become the go-to place in the U.S. for customized circularity for brands and manufacturers, while honoring the workers in our region to increase locally rooted wealth in our community.
