The City of Berkeley Transfer Station accepts refuse, construction & demolition debris, yard waste, and recyclables. Please clearly separate materials (recycling, green waste, and landfill) to ensure highest recovery of recyclables. Minimum charges apply to weighted materials. Please visit the website or call for more details, rates, or verification. *Berkeley Recycling Center works in tandem with Berkeley Transfer Station, and provides buyback and drop-off of recyclable household items.

Christmas Trees Check CityofBerkeley.info for updates on free holiday drop-off timeframe for residents. All lights, decorations, tinsel, plastic bags, and plastic tree stands must be removed for composting. Outside of designated holiday drop-off, paid drop-off for composting. Flocked trees are not compostable and can be landfilled for a fee.

No sod or plant debris with excessive dirt - this will be handled and charged as refuse. Not allowed: plywood, particle board, painted or treated wood, trash, recyclable materials, and and plastic bags (please empty any plastic bags used to transport debris)
