Residential Program: Free drop-off for hazardous wastes generated in the course of living in and maintaining your place of residence in Alameda County (operated by BLT Enterprises). Drop-off during open hours. Driver's License required as proof of residence (contact-free scan). If your Driver's License is out of Alameda County, bring recent proof of residency like utility bills, rental or ownership papers. Swap Shed open during open hours (take home products in good condition for reuse). Find packing instructions and program requirements, click here. Drop-off Instructions
- For safe packing instructions and program requirements, click here.
- The amount of waste you may transport in one vehicle is limited to 125 pounds or 15 gallons.
- No individual container may be greater than 5 gallons or 50 pounds in size.
- Wastes must be transported by a resident of the household which generated the waste.
- Do not allow different wastes to mix.
- Containers must be closed and not leaking.
- At your request, the HHW attendants will save your motor oil and gasoline cans once they're emptied. Label them with your name and phone number; they must be picked up after the site closes on the same day, or on a later day.

Fuel | Fuel & automotive fuel filters. Fuel can be transported in a container other than a gas can , so long as the container is sealed and compatible with the waste. Fuel containers can be emptied and returned – after the facility closes for drop-off for the day (generally after 2:30pm) or a following open day up to a month later. Label your container with your name and phone number. No appointment needed to pick up a container. Other Fuels: HHW Facilities do accept butane, isobutane and propane “camping” type cylinders. Acceptance is limited to small sizes, 1 pound or less for propane, and similar volumes for butane/isobutane. The HHW facilities also accept propane cylinders sold for barbeque use, up to 20 pound (“5 gallon”) size. |

CGM's (continuous glucose monitors) are accepted from residents using these at home with the sharp (&/or applicator) separated into an approved FDA approved sharps container, and the devices collected in a thick Ziploc bag.
