Alameda County Industries (ACI) provides one, free annual On-Call Clean Up to all single family and all multi-family households. Residents and Property Managers read the Alameda Bulky Pickup Guidelines and call 510-483-1400 or contact ACI Alameda online. New Program Changes: As of Oct. 2022, ACI is now accepting reusable items (that are in working condition and labeled as REUSE) for donation. ACI is now accepting more material per household (up to 3 cubic yards and 3 bulky items) and has expanded the service to multi-family customers. Multi-family customers should contact the Property Manager or Owner first to establish a suitable location accessible to ACI trucks.

Split-Carts are used for Residential Recycling for single-family homes and duplexes. Paper and cardboard products go in the Brown Side, while all metal, glass and plastics go in the Blue Side.

Separate Carts: Apartment buildings have a cart for containers and a cart for paper/cardboard.

Purchase pre-paid trash bags at the Transfer Station if you live in single-family home or a property of 1-4 units. You can put out 10 max per week.

Residents can drop off mercury thermostats (including switch & cover) at CVSan office. Ask to complete the Thermostat Care rebate form.

Textile Pick-ups are held twice a year (the first full week of June and Oct). Please set bags or boxes of clean and dry textiles - free of chemical and bodily fluid stains - by the blue cart for pick up (reuse and recycling).

CVSan's Recycles Day is held in Spring and Summer by appointment and allows for various drop-off of items, including bagged textiles.

Single-family (4 units or less) and multi-family complexes (5 units or more) are eligible for one on-call Bulky & Reuse Pick-Up per year.

Curbside Newark Bulky Guidelines Residents and Property Managers can contact Republic Services (Newark) at 510-657-3500 to schedule their pick-ups. Residents get 2 pick ups per year.

Drop-off: Two free passes to the Newby Island Landfill per year per residence for 4 cubic yards/ visit. Schedule through Republic's Customer Service. Passes can be mailed or picked up in person at the Republic Services office located at 42600 Boyce Road, Fremont. Residents must bring passes and show proof of Newark residency at Newby Island Landfill.
