Plastic Film & Wrap

Some grocery stores still offer plastic film recycling drop-off bins for clean, dry plastic bags, but in many cases, the material is too contaminated to be processed and thus landfilled. When you can, try to avoid the packaging in the first place by shopping locally or buying secondhand.

Oakland accepts this item in your curbside garbage container.

Dirty, wet plastic film belongs in the trash. If collected as bag-of-bags to drop at grocery stores, must be clean and dry. Loose film jams recycling equipment.
