Electronics - Non-working
Consider refurbishing or repairing ewaste before recycling. Find repair information, manuals and videos through the manufacturer, YouTube, iFixit, and repair specialists. Designate a box to accumulate broken electronics over time. What does the state of CA consider a "covered electronic device?" As of Jan. 1, 2026, devices with an embedded battery are considered an electronic device. See CalRecycle's Electronic Waste Management webpage for details.
The EPA recommends that businesses use third-party certified electronics recyclers (e-Stewards® and/or R2) to manage unwanted used electronics. Use links to find locations with these certifications.
