Batteries - Household - Rechargeable (up to 5 lbs)
Use the Battery Network (formerly Call2Recycle) Battery Drop-off Location Finder for safe recycling of single-use, rechargeable, e-bike, cell phones, and high energy batteries (300 Watt hours or more tool batteries and include these brands).
- Do not dispose of rechargeable batteries in trash or recycling containers as they are a fire hazard.
- Safety: Tape terminals of Li-ion, Ni-Cd, NiMH & SSLA of batteries using clear packing, electrical or duct tape.
- If using non-clear tape, keep the battery brand and chemistry visible.
- Even though used batteries might not have the energy to power a device, they can still carry enough charge to spark if their terminals come into contact with metal or other batteries.

Loose batteries are batteries sold separately from a product, individually packaged with a product, or designed to be easily removed from a product with no more than common household tools.
