Tea Bags

Tea bags are prepackaged tea-leaves often made from filter paper, or food-grade plastic. Open plastic based bags to add the tea to the compost bin, and put the bag in the trash.

Consider reusable tea brewing systems. Tea "bags" made of paper or another natural material like cotton or silk, go in the compost bin, however "bags" made of plastic mesh should go in the trash after the tea leaves are put in the compost bin.
Individual tea bag packets or sachets: if from paper go in the compost; if from paper fused with plastic and/or foil/metal go into the trash.
