Trees may be cut to fit inside Organics cart/bin; lid must close. Remove all décor, tinsel, stands, and lights or tree will not be able to be composted. Flocked trees will be collected and landfilled. Broken artificial trees belong in the garbage bin and are not collected curbside. (Note: Special trucks will collect trees at times different than regular collection services.)

Bulky Pickup

Alameda County Industries (ACI) provides one, free annual On-Call Clean Up to all single family and all multi-family households. Residents and Property Managers read the Alameda Bulky Pickup Guidelines and call 510-483-1400 or contact ACI Alameda online. New Program Changes: As of Oct. 2022, ACI is now accepting reusable items (that are in working condition and labeled as REUSE) for donation. ACI is now accepting more material per household (up to 3 cubic yards and 3 bulky items) and has expanded the service to multi-family customers. Multi-family customers should contact the Property Manager or Owner first to establish a suitable location accessible to ACI trucks.

Report through SeeClickFix in the category of trash. Items dumped on public property may also be reported through the Alameda Department of Public Works by calling (510) 747-7900 or (510) 337-8340 after hours.

Report dumping along the freeways and off-ramps to CalTrans noting the Situation Type as Litter - Trash & Debris. For railroad right-of-ways locations, report to Union Pacific online or by phone 1-888-877-7267.
